Medicinal plant knowledge of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh

The transmission of the traditional knowledge of the First Nations passes through the practice and experience of individuals who are closely linked to the traditional way of life and to the territory. The objectives of this book are to recognize, promote, transmit and protect this knowledge resulting from the thousand-year-old wisdom of the Ilnu of Lac-Saint-Jean. It gives the reader a glimpse of the immense potential of our forest, and above all, of the rich heritage of our people, the Pekuakamiulnuatsh, who have learned to use flora for nourishment and healing of body and soul.
